Rezekne
Rēzekne is a major city and centre of the Rēzekne administrative district. It lies in the very centre of Latgale region, at the crossroads of two international motorways - St. Petersburg-Warsaw and Riga-Moscow, hence it is called also "the heart of Latgale". Rēzekne lies on 7 hills and the Rēzekne river flows through it. Latgale liberation monument - United for Latvia, popularly called Latgales Māra, is the symbol of Rēzekne.
